✋ ¡Basta! — a word race on a single letter

It is the classic “name, animal, city” game, only online and on a clock. Each round opens with a random letter and five categories drawn from seven — name, animal, city or country, food, thing, profession, plant. You get 75 seconds to put a word into every one of the five boxes.

The first player to fill all five hits ¡BASTA!, and everyone else has just ten seconds left to finish. Then the server does the maths: a word that starts with the right letter and that nobody else wrote scores 10, a word someone else also wrote scores 5, and an empty box or a wrong letter scores 0. Speed alone will not win it — the obvious answer is worth half as much as the clever one.

Rooms take two to eight players and open with a link: nothing to install, no account. A match runs two to five rounds, the letters are drawn from a bag so they never repeat, and the categories rotate every round, so memorised answers run out fast. Short on people? Bots join in — they write imperfectly, sometimes skip a category and call ¡BASTA! on you.
