🥊 Truco online — a bluffing duel on the Spanish deck

Truco is Argentina’s card classic, and it rewards a straight face more than a good hand. It is strictly one on one with a 40-card Spanish deck: three cards each and up to three tricks per hand. The ranking takes getting used to — the ace of swords beats everything, then the ace of clubs, the seven of swords and the seven of coins, and only then the threes, twos and face cards. Two cards of equal power make a parda, a tied trick.

The betting is where the game lives. Call truco and the hand is suddenly worth 2 points; your opponent can raise to retruco (3) and vale 4, or answer “no quiero” and hand the points over without a fight. Envido is a separate bet, and it can only be called before the first card is played: two cards of the same suit are worth 20 plus their face values, and the higher total takes it. Accept and win and you get 2 points; decline and the caller takes 1.

A match runs to 15 points, so there is always room to recover from a bluff that went wrong. Practise against the bot: it bets for real, takes envido on a strong hand and punishes empty bravado. Each turn lasts 30 seconds before the server plays for you, and a room opens with a link — no install, no account.
